Why We Value Continuing Education
At DK Dance Productions, we strive to provide value in every way your child interacts with us! It is through our continuing education efforts that we’re able to offer the highest level of service and the very best versions of ourselves as teachers. We strongly believe in the importance of education for everyone at our studios.
Just like you invest in your child’s dance education, we proud to invest in our teachers’ educations. In the past year alone, we have had the privilege of sending our staff members to participate in numerous educational opportunities!
Our teachers have trained at conventions, such as JUMP, NUVO, and Hollywood Vibe, as well as with classes and seminars at Dance Teacher Summit, More Than Just Great Dancing®’s Manager Training, and Taking Shape’s STAR Leadership program. Ms. Darci has also participated in MTJGD’s Studio Owner University®, Member Rally, and Enterprise Training.
Not only do our teachers train outside of our walls, they train inside as well. Our teachers undergo staff and facility training each season on our policies and procedures, but more importantly, on our classroom curriculum.
So what does all this mean for you and your dancer? A lot of really cool benefits!
- A fresh perspective on class structure
While attending seminars, our team learns new ways to approach class time and curricula, keeping your dancer’s classes fun, interesting, and jam-packed with exciting music and movement.
- Better understanding of student learning styles
Learning styles are a hot topic at training events. We learn how to approach different personalities in different ways and tailor our classes to accommodate many types of learners, such as aural, visual, and kinesthetic.
- Best practices in safe stretching and conditioning
Dance is always evolving and our knowledge of safety in the classroom is too! We study the best ways to keep your dancer safe with the most up-to-date information about age-appropriate movement, flexibility, and strength training.
- Applying life skills in the dance classroom
Learning from respected dance industry experts helps us gain new strategies for implementing life skills into our everyday dance practice. We learn up-to-date tactics for teaching a strong work ethic, resiliency, gratitude, and responsibility.
The hours our staff members spend learning multiply over and over as soon as they step foot back in our classrooms. The positive effects ripple for months on end … until it’s time to go out and learn some more!
