Sonja Davis

Miss Sonja, a native of Charlotte, NC, started dancing at the age of two and has continued to dance for over 30 years. She studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Liturgical dance. As a competitive dancer, she competed in small/large groups and production lines.  She won numerous regional and national top honors from various competitions such as Applause, Rising Star, Showstoppers & Star Systems. She also received a college scholarship from Star Systems.

Miss Sonja attended North Carolina A&T State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Business Administration & Office Administration. She also obtained her MBA from Pfeiffer University at Charlotte. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the NC A&T “Blue & Gold Marching Machine” “Golden Delight” auxiliary unit as a flag/dance girl and was a member of the “Aggie Essence” dance team. On both teams, she served one year as Captain.

After college, she volunteered with several groups as the Head Coach for West Charlotte High School Marching Band’s Flag & Dance Team, as Dance/Step choreographer at the Bethlehem Center and taught dance at Miss Donna’s School of Dancing. Miss Sonja has been choreographing and teaching dance for more than 20 years. She currently serves as Co-Director/Choreographer and dancer for the Central Baptist Church Liturgical Dance Ministry, which she has done for the last 9 years.

Miss Sonja currently resides in Florissant, MO with her husband Calvin, daughter Courtney (a dancer at DK), and son Calvin Jr. (CJ).  Dancing is her passion and she truly enjoys sharing her love of dance with others.
